Ask for Referrals

This is a lead generation strategy that is so simple and effective, yet always gets overlooked.

When you find a satisfied customer who likes the product, simply ask them for referrals.  Who better to give you a referral than someone who loves the product?

Simply ask your customer if they know of anyone who might also be able to benefit from the product and if they could forward your website and contact information along to those people. Since the information is coming from a friend along with a good review, the new prospect is more likely to take it seriously and be willing to give it a try.

In the event that one of your customer referrals ends up liking the product and wanting to become a distributor, you can use that as leverage to get your customer to sign up as well. Here's a sample script to give you an idea of how to approach this issue:

"Hey John. That referral you gave me, Jane, ended up really liking the product too and is interested in signing up as a distributor. Before I sign her up, I wanted to give you the opportunity to sign up first. That way, we can sign Jane up under you and you can earn commission on anything she purchases and on any new distributors she may sign up. Let me know if you are interested. Since you already love the product, there's really no reason not to do it."
